Palermo has several different sections, like Soho, Hollywood, etc. If you want to be close to the Subte D, which I recommend, you also want to be near Santa Fe Avenue, close to the Palermo stop.

I would at least bring a jacket - I went in February and ended up buying a hat and a scarf and gloves there! It might be only 48 F while you are there and with the wind ... brrrrr! Yes, bring the warm clothes and a rain jacket is a good idea too.

We are going to El Calafate to visit the glaciers for 3 days, then we travel to Puerto Madryn to see the penguins at punta tombo. We will be there the week before Christmas. Do we need warm winter jackets? Hats? Gloves? Scarves? THANKS!

Season is expected to be slightly cold in June and cold in July and August. And I think November is the starting month of summer in Argentina.

Hi there! I have read that it\'s best to visit North of Argentina between May and September. Those are the times when the heat and humidity is less oppressive. About the south, it is said to be best visited in the summer which is from December to February. :)

Well, I know that when we went in July, it was fairly cold for the temperatures I was told it would be but that could have just been us and it could have just been the one week we decided to go :(

Thank you for this great information both of you, I was wondering some of the same things as Brian and I think that you have resolved my questions :) I greatly appreciate your posts. I also was thinking of renting an apartment in Palermo so I am glad that this was answered with legitimate information :)

Well, can someone please tell me what the weather in Argentina is like on average during the months of June, July, August and November? The reason I ask this is I am planning a trip to Argentina sometime during those months and I want to know.

Hi negeen333,

1) Palermo and Recoleta are both near to everything and great options for you. You should choose your neighborhood according to what you like to do and your personality. The following articles have info on what you are looking for:

Quest for an apartment.
How to rent an apartment in BA

2) The summer ends on march 21st, so Feb/March are still hot, especially in February when temperatures may reach 35/38 Celsius. It is a great time to come to Arentina, still summer, but not as hot as January. Lots more info on our Argentina weather page.

Hi there. I think Palermo sounds like what you are looking for. Las Canitas is also a really nice area as is Recoleta. In Palermo, Borges, or Serrano would be streets you would like to be located close to, if not on. (They are the same street but change names.) Palermo has several different sections, like Soho, Hollywood, etc. If you want to be close to the Subte D, which I recommend, you also want to be near Santa Fe Avenue, close to the Palermo stop.

Hello and thank you for such a wonderfull site. Some questions:
1)I am interested in renting an apartment, what would be the best city (if you can, cross streets) to aim for? I want something very cnetral and close to many things, and safe. I am thinking Palermo.

2) What will the weather be like Feb/March?
