We are going to El Calafate to visit the glaciers for 3 days, then we travel to Puerto Madryn to see the penguins at punta tombo. We will be there the week before Christmas. Do we need warm winter jackets? Hats? Gloves? Scarves? THANKS!

I would at least bring a jacket - I went in February and ended up buying a hat and a scarf and gloves there! It might be only 48 F while you are there and with the wind ... brrrrr! Yes, bring the warm clothes and a rain jacket is a good idea too.
