   I plan to travel and learn Argentine languages...

   I’m studying Spanish in Madrid and enjoying it greatly – I’ve been in the city for almost a year now, feel have integrated well and can use my Spanish confidently. It’s been such a good experience that once university finishes, I’m considering another (albeit shorter) language learning trip – an Italian course in Italy or perhaps something a little more exotic – [url=http://www.prolinguis.fr/sejours-linguistiques-ecole/fr/27500/harrowhouse.html]sejours linguistiques en Egypte[/url]. I’ve found Spanish to the majority of Europe’s big cities so the world really is my oyster – I need to decide what’s best for me; I need advice! Being a competent Spanish speaker, I think Italian is probably the best option given that it is so similar to Spanish. Bearing in mind I will only have 6 weeks in my destination, the easiness factor is a very important one! German appeals because of its utility (I am studying business alongside Spanish and the German industry interests me greatly) but I think it would be difficult to get a useful (as in capability of using it professionally) understanding of a language in just 6 weeks. I also want sun! Please, all advice would be very much welcome!

   Hi Dianne,

   Many foreigners come to Argentina to learn Spanish. As you have been studying Spanish in Spain, you will likely find the Spanish spoken here rather different. In Argentina, we use \"vos\" instead of \"tu.\" The accent is quite distinct and many common words are borrowed from Italian. Check out our excellent article on Lunfardo. According to the Oxford Spanish Dictionary a lunfardo is “a form of Buenos Aires slang that originated in the underworld. It draws on many languages, including Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and several African languages.” Where you want to study all depends on what it is you want to learn!

   Dianne, I was just casually looking throught the travel guide to see what was being promotioned in Argentina. I am a US citizen that fell in love with a man from Rosario Argentina, and now live here.
   I started a language study program last year, perhaps it might interest you. Buenos Aires has millions of langauge study programs, but Rosario is a smaller, not yet exploited by turists, city, with really allows you to use what you learn.
